Founded by Christine Parker in 2012, Sick Chicks was formed to address the need for female filmmakers to collaborate and learn how to make horror films. They have since made 3 short films won awards for 3 other films in the Greensboro 48 film competitions, and collaborated with Christine's other company Adrenalin on the feature film Fix It In Post. Their short film Tell-Tale Heart: Sisters has recently been picked up by Meridian distribution with a release date coming in April of 2019! The Sick Chicks recently completed Christine's 5th feature film Blood of the Mummy, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime, Vudu, Tubi and various other streaming platforms. 

 

In 2016 the Sick Chicks came up with the brilliant idea of starting their own film festival so they could not only support local female filmmakers but also support women who make films all over the world! Now in their 4th year it continues to be one of the 100 top Film Festivals on Film Freeway. For 2 days every September you can catch some of the best female driven Horror, Scifi, and Fantasy Films at the Varsity Theater in Chapel Hill, NC.
